Although Cyprus is best known for its all year round sunshine, it's also popular as a winter skiing destination, mainly because of the serene beauty of the surroundings. Between January and March, it snows on the top peaks of the Troodos Mountains, the island's most colourful and magnificent park - the highest point being Mount Olympus at 1952m.
There are 10 ski runs and several cross-county trails, which are suitable for beginners, intermediates and advanced skiers. There are also cafes and restaurants, equipment hire shops and a ski school. The ski centre is a 90-minute drive from Paphos and during March you can ski in the Troodos Mountains in the morning and relax on the beach in the afternoon.
The Cyprus Ski Federation and Ski Club website has lots more information about skiing in Cyprus.
